A great many flights into Bangkok land between ten at night and two in the morning. You clear immigration at midnight, reach the hotel at one, and are too tired to sleep — which is a distinct and miserable condition, and one of the few that a massage is genuinely good at.
Around the clock means what it says
We operate twenty-four hours, and a two in the morning booking is an ordinary one rather than a favour. There is no night rate: a session at two costs what the same session costs at two in the afternoon.
The earliest we can reach you is ninety minutes from the time you ask. That is the one thing worth planning around, because the natural instinct is to ask once you are in the room — by which time you want to be asleep in an hour, not in two and a half.
Ask from the airport. Once you have your bag and know roughly when you will be at the hotel, send the request then. The ninety minutes runs while you are in the taxi instead of while you are sitting on the end of the bed.
Why a late arrival is worth treating
Two separate things are going on and they pull in opposite directions.
Your body has been immobile for eleven hours, so the legs have swollen, the upper back has stiffened and the neck has been at an angle. That is physical and it responds to treatment.
And your body clock thinks it is the middle of the afternoon, so you are wired. That does not respond to treatment directly — but a quiet, warm, slow hour in a dark room is a far better transition into sleep than lying in the dark waiting for it, and the physical relief removes the discomfort that keeps you turning over.
What to book at that hour
Something gentle and flowing. This is not the moment for firm work.
- Foot massage — ฿1,000 for sixty minutes. Seated, no undressing, and it addresses the swelling that eleven hours in a seat produces. The easiest thing to have at one in the morning.
- Thai oil massage — ฿1,000 for sixty minutes. Warm, continuous, full body, unscented.
- Aromatherapy massage — ฿1,200 for sixty minutes. The lightest and slowest of the oil treatments, and the one most explicitly aimed at getting a nervous system to stand down.
Sixty minutes rather than ninety at this hour. The aim is to be asleep, not to get everything covered, and a shorter session finishing at two is better than a longer one finishing at half past.
Avoid deep tissue entirely on a night like this. It is firm, it can leave you sore the next day, and a body thirty hours without proper sleep is in no position to judge.
The hotel at one in the morning
Reception is staffed through the night in any hotel of a reasonable size, and a therapist arriving late is less unusual than you might think. Give us the hotel name and room number on the form as normal; your therapist reports to reception and follows whatever the hotel asks.
Two small things that matter more at night than during the day. If your hotel has a policy about visitors after a certain hour, ask at check-in rather than at one in the morning. And if you are in a serviced apartment rather than a hotel, the juristic office may well be closed — in which case the night security desk needs to know in advance, and that is a thing to arrange when you arrive. Serviced apartments and aparthotels covers that difference.
Then sleep on local time
The massage is the pleasant part. The part that actually shifts a body clock is getting outside in daylight the next morning, eating on local time, and not napping after three in the afternoon — however reasonable it seems. Give a seven-hour shift two or three days, and a trip from the Americas four. Jet lag in the first forty-eight hours has the rest of it.
There is no travel surcharge in any of the twelve districts we cover, at any hour, and the service areas page has arrival estimates — which are shorter at one in the morning than at any other time of day. Every treatment with its price is on the home page, and you can send a request from the baggage hall.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really book a massage at one in the morning?
Yes. We operate twenty-four hours and a two in the morning booking is an ordinary one rather than a favour. There is no night rate: a session at two costs what the same session costs at two in the afternoon. The ninety-minute minimum notice applies at every hour.
What should I book after a late flight?
Something gentle and flowing, and sixty minutes rather than ninety. Foot massage at 1,000 baht addresses the swelling eleven hours in a seat produces and needs no undressing. Thai oil massage at 1,000 baht is the warm full-body option. Aromatherapy at 1,200 baht is the lightest and the one most aimed at getting you to sleep. Avoid deep tissue entirely on a night like that.
Will the hotel let a therapist up at that hour?
Reception is staffed through the night at any hotel of a reasonable size and a late therapist is less unusual than you might think. If your hotel has a policy about visitors after a certain hour, ask at check-in rather than at one in the morning. In a serviced apartment the juristic office may be closed, so the night security desk needs to know in advance.
Does a massage help with jet lag itself?
It helps you get to sleep, which on a late arrival is most of the battle, and it addresses what the flight did to your legs and upper back. It does not shift a body clock. That takes daylight early the next morning, eating on local time, and not napping after three in the afternoon.
