Aromatherapy Massage

Oil massage with a chosen essential-oil blend.

In short

Aromatherapy massage is an oil massage using an essential-oil blend chosen for what you want from it. Tell us about any fragrance allergy and we will use unscented oil.

An oil massage using a blend chosen for what you want from the treatment — typically a relaxing, an uplifting or a muscle-easing blend. Your therapist will offer the blends they have with them.

The strokes are the same flowing full-body strokes as a plain oil massage, and they do the same work on circulation and on muscle tension. What the blend adds is the scent, and the effect scent has on how quickly you settle — which is why this is the treatment to choose for poor sleep or a week you have not been able to put down.

Who is this massage suitable for?

Difficulty unwinding, poor sleep, or general low energy.
Stress that has become physical — a clenched jaw, shoulders that will not drop.

When should I avoid this treatment?

Essential oils are not suitable during pregnancy without advice, or with some skin conditions and fragrance allergies. Tell us and we will use an unscented oil instead, or see the coconut oil massage, which carries no fragrance at all.

What does the therapist bring?

A massage table, fresh linen and a small selection of blends.

How should I prepare?

As for oil massage. Let us know of any scent you dislike or react to.

Professional conduct

Professional draping throughout, as with all our treatments.
